Night Eyes 2008 Oct. 16-19 and 23-26
Costumes: We encourage our volunteers to wear costumes to add to the fun and excitement of Night Eyes. When planning your costume, kepp these things in mind:
-Merry, not scary -No masks -Weather appropriate - you will be outdoors the entire night -Change into your costume before you arrive, if possible
Job Assignments: You will be assigned a job when you get to the zoo. We try our best to place groups together but we may need to split groups to cover areas that need assistance. We appreciate your flexibility while volunteering.
Attendance: We count on your presence and prompt arrival on your scheduled shift days. If you must change your schedule, please contact us immediately at (515) 323-8331.
Confirmation: Volunteers who sign up prior to October 13 should receive a postcard in the mail. If you do not receive a postcard, please call our volunteer office (515) 323-8881 to confirm or simply come out for your shift. We always have something available.
Parking and Check-In: Please park in the zoo's main parking lot. You will receive a parking pass in the mail if you sign up more than 5 days before your volunteer shift. Check-in is in the volunteer center located in the Discovery Center. Enter the Conference Center entrance and follow the signs!
Refreshments: You will receive a snack ticket when you sign in at the beginning of your shift. You will be allowed one snack per shift. Feel free to grab a snack "to go" and eat on the way to your assigned job area. Volunteers are asked not to eat the treats designated for Night Eyes guests.
Valuables: Please leave your valuables and personal possessions at home. The zoo will not be responsible for these items.
Age Requirements: All Night Eyes volunteers must be at least 13. Volunteers under 13 will not be allowed to work the event.
