Position Purpose

The Development Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate records of donors and members, quality controlling all donations, assisting with processing development related transactions, assisting other team members with other development related tasks, and contributing to the overall success and effectiveness of the membership and fundraising team.

  • Maintains accurate contact information in member and donor databases including removal of duplicate records.
  • Review donations for quality assurance and make corrections as necessary
  • Responsible for pulling strategic reports on membership and/or fundraising data based on criteria provided by the manager.
  • Provides customer service via answering emails and the phone line.
  • Assists customers with point-of-sale transactions for memberships and donations.
  • Responsible for sending out tax receipts and other documentation for donations in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for assisting with prep and all elements pertaining to silent auctions.
  • Available to fill in shifts at membership desk.
  • Assists Community Presence Coordinator with Behind the Scenes tours and offsite events.
  • Other duties as assigned relating to the overall success of the Development department.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of the job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and utilize manual dexterity to use computer mouse and keyboard and other office equipment.

Required education and experience

  • Intermediate word processing skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel required.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Computer database experience.

Additional eligibility requirements

  • Must be able to maintain work hours that will serve the needs of the Blank Park Zoo.
  • Must be able to maintain calm and act professionally in all situations such as emergencies and guest interactions.

Licenses/Certifications

First Aid/CPR Training or ability to obtain.
